NEO LAUNCH PARTY

When Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled NEO, a powerful new centralized ad platform unifying their premium television and streaming video inventory, the launch event was designed to be small, intimate, and unapologetically moody.

From an event photography standpoint, this presented the ultimate challenge: dim atmospheric lighting, extremely tight quarters, and a room full of VIP media executives and sales partners who were there to enjoy the evening, not be stuck in front of a lens.

Recognizing the constraints of the room, I pivoted my strategy. Instead of trying to force attendees to be the subjects, I made the atmosphere the subject. I concentrated on capturing a mix of clean promotional imagery and compelling contemporary black and white scenes, selectively deploying an off-camera flash to pierce the mood lighting only when absolutely necessary. Most importantly, I focused on finding striking architectural ways to photograph the NEO branding in the space to deliver a premium gallery of stylized architectural and environmental assets tailor made for WBD's future pitch decks and sales documentation.
